Black Beauty

Challenge: Choose a free-use book and create a new look for its cover, interior, and create a publicity package for the author.

Solution: When this project was first announced, I knew I wanted to do Black Beauty, as this is my childhood book. I wanted to go in a very illustrative, very “oil painting” feeling, as this was a common look for the era that Black Beauty came out (late 1800s). Each chapter has a different illustration indicating what is contained in that section.
